About Us

Cathy Marriott and Sue Baker first met at Liberty of Regent Street where they both started as sales assistants straight out of college. This mad, creative environment fuelled an existing passion for textile and established a never-ending desire to find the most unusual, fabulous products possible, wherever in the world that might be. They still, to this day, get ridiculously excited at the discovery of a new product or production technique.

Both, having started in the linen department, worked their way up to become Buyers for the Store and then go their separate ways to work with other London brands such as Selfridges, Mulberry and The White House. However, bed linen was always their first love and it was this that brought them back to form dormitory in 2001.

It was their reluctance to compromise and that enduring passion and love for textile design that led them to create a collection of bed linen and accessories where they could indulge a desire to work with the very best quality materials and artisans, to create a product of integrity, overseeing every aspect from the first paper draft through to a finished product.

Today there are four collections, each with their own character, and numerous special projects for luxury lifestyle brands, hoteliers and interior designers. With three long established production centres in three different countries their strength has always been to translate design elements into a varied range of products, textures and techniques to offer a complete merchandise concept
